LIVE ELECTRONICS WORKSHOP WITH VOICES ON THE EDGE
As part of Isobel’s Voices on the Edge residency, she led a workshop for gender diverse participants on using live electronics to channel dark and esoteric archetypes. The session drew on folk figures such as the siren, the beast and the banshee to explore ways of subverting and distorting the feminine, and incorporated the inclusive teaching approaches Isobel has developed through Girls Twiddling Knobs to support each person’s relationship with music technology.
The workshop took place on 11 October at AMATA, Falmouth University.
With special thanks to Dr D Ferrett, James Scarle and Tamsin Godfrey.
